Irvine Tea Party Wrap Up 2010 (Videos And Pictures)
-
I attended my first Tea Party rally yesterday. I figured I needed to get a first hand account of the people who show up there and the types of speeches that are given. This post will include pictures and videos that I blogged while I was at yesterday’s Tea Party. First, here is my assessment of the Tea Party movement.
The Liberal media spin that has tried to generalize this group of people could not be more wrong. I understand why they must smear this group and it is because it threatens the Liberal quest for Totalitarian control over our lives. Yes, it took the Republicans being corrupted by power and forgetting their core principles to do it. It also took a radical candidate who ran as a moderate, who then implemented a radical policy agenda, to wake up the silent majority. Now the silent majority is silent no more. A powerful cross section of society as come together to say enough is enough. Sadly, this may be want the Obama Administration and the Democrats really want, a nonviolent Civil War. Time will tell how this plays out, but I think that the 2010 election will be even more critical than the 2012 Presidential election. Unless the Republicans can get back at least the House of Representatives there will be no way to stop the Left’s drive to take America into a Totalitarian form of government.
Here are some videos from the rally:
Chuck DeVore gave a powerful speech and was the highlight of the rally for me. He is the lone Republican principled enough to keep Conservative voters motivated enough to turn out and rid this state of Barbara, “Call me Senator” Boxer.
Part One:
Part Two:
Here is John Eastman who is running for Attorney General:
Actor Gary Graham gave a crowd pleasing speech as well. Take particular notice at about 4:50 when he starts talking about Israel. The Tea Party folks love Israel and cannot be accused of racism on this issue.
And here are some of the signs that stood out to me for being brilliant jabs at the Obama Administration’s Liberal policies and that showed the media’s spin on the people at these events is completely bogus.

It was an eye opening day for me. As a Christian, for now, I see no problem supporting them. They seem very open to the affirmation of Christian values on the family, abortion and education. Unlike the Democratic Party that is so drenched in Liberal thought that the implementation of their views would lead to the persecution of Christians in this country.

Hi! Met you yesterday. That's me with the "Not White, Not Wealthy" sign! It was a great day yesterday. I was so pleased to find the event was not at ALL like it is portrayed in the news. Everyone was so nice, and even though we were there for a very frustrating reason, there was a wonderful air of POSITIVITY. One thing, the actor's name is Gary GRAHAM, I believe. He writes for Andrew Beitbart's site, Big Hollywood, if you're ever interested to look at some of his stuff. Big Hollywood is awesome.

Good to meet you.

Kira,
Thanks for the heads up about Gary, I'll have to check it out. If you are up to it, I'd like to learn some more about your thoughts on politics and why you are in the Tea Party bubble? Send me your email through Twitter if you are interested. Keep on fighting.
Hi Blue Collar Todd!
I, too, was at the Irvine rally. I'm also "Not White, Not Wealthy," and a woman (24/7 mom & wife) with a Ph.D.
I didn't know you were in my neck of the woods. If I knew you were going to be there, I would've been able to personally thank you for your wonderful and thoughtful articles. Well, I'll thank you now… THANK YOU!
Tim Cox, founder of GOOOH (Get Out Of Our House), spoke at the rally and his plan to kick out all 435 career politicians caught my curiosity, so I attended his workshop that night. Intriguing. Check him out and his website: http://goooh.com.
Hope to meet you someday. Keep fighting the good fight!

@DocSahara,
I appreciate the comment and that you like what you read here. Please pass my blog along to others you think will like, and even Liberals who need their world view challenged.
Hi BC Todd!
Read below that you are married to an Asian. Along with "Not White, Not Wealthy", woman ("homemaker"), and Ph.D. I'm also Asian, married to a White guy. We joke that he's fortunate that he married a non-White, because if he showed up to a Tea Party rally, the leftist MSM-types would automatically label him a "racist". I'm his shield. LOL! I think those who focus on (really, *are obsessed with*) skin color and ethnicity are the biased/bigoted/prejudiced one. When nothing is happening in the inside (at the soul level) as is obvious with the crazed leftists, then they can only focus on the shallow outsides of others. Pathetic & damaging to the fabric of our nation.
I think the leftists need to be reminded that, according to Gallup, 11% of the U.S. population is Black, so common sense tells us that there will not be a huge chunk of Blacks at these rallies. BTW, according to Gallup, 6% of Tea Partiers are Black. "Other" (which would include me) make up 15% of the U.S. pop. Tea Party "Other" – 15%.
My non-White brother (who lives in the South!) & I attended last years march & rally in DC. An incredible and awe-inspiring experience!!! Over 1 million patriots gathered together in our Capitol. It was the biggest gathering of protesters at the Mall in our nation's history. Hearing over 1 million freedom-loving folks sing our National Anthem was one of my favorite parts of the whole day! Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYRLNa0vI04
My brother & I walked around during the rally to read the signs and get a feel of the event. The patriots there were happy to be together. Finally, we didn't seem so alone. I did not hear one ugly word; absolutely no cuss word was spoken; and we cleaned up after ourselves (LOL!).
I did not see anger in their faces. I saw *determination*…to stop the slide of our country into tyranny! These people are the heart of our country and if the anti-"all that is good with our nation" tears out the heart of this land, then there's death… Death of a great idea (and one, that I contend, was God-inspired)…death of a once great nation.
I think that those who are doing what they can to wake people up (e.g., talking to neighbors, blogging, etc.), but have never attended a Tea Party rally are part of the Tea Party Movement. It is a movement. You could call it a Patriot Movement or whatever name, but this a movement… and it's about time!!!
"Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary" (Galations 6:9).
