Obama Drops "Creator" From The Declaration Of Independence; Why?; UPDATE: Nod From Gateway Pundit, And Scared Monkeys

First off, this is a teleprompter speech so I would think careful attention is given to every word that is put on it. This means the dropping of “Creator” was intentional. Second, notice the pause that is inserted in such a way that it seems to replace the time he should be saying “that they are endowed by their Creator”:

It was suggested by The Bronze in the comments to put the quote from the Declaration of Independence as a contrast. Here it is:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness..”
Now as to the why this was done. Why would a self described “Christian” like President Obama leave out God in a speech that grounds our “inalienable rights”? I think there is an attempt by Obama, the Democrats, and the Liberals/Progressives that support them to replace God with an all powerful State that controls every aspect of our lives and this speech fits well within that framework.
We have indeed been created in the image of God and that makes our lives intrinsically valuable and no arbitrary decision of some Bureaucrat can change that even though they will try with all their might.
“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Genesis 1:26-28

The thing is, you just know he wanted to say "They are endowed by their government". What kind of person would purposely misquote the founding document of our country? Sadly,I think we know.

Not necessarily. When I preach, I use a full manuscript. I've been know to unintentionally leave out words. Sometimes your eyes get ahead of your mouth.
Also, I'm not sure Genesis 1:1-8 would be the right text to use…or I'm failing to see the connection. The creation of man (Genesis 1:26-27) I can see. Just don't see what day/night and sky have to do with the issue at hand.

But the long pause where that was supposed to come just raises the issue. The "Creator" is what grounds the "inalienable rights". Question that and the rest falls like dominoes.

The quote from the DoI (that he flubbed) would be helpful, so that we can see exactly what he left out, I.E.

I like the admonition about Obama on the video splash screen. It's true, Obama has no hate in his heart whatsoever.
Except for greedy bankers, of course. And greedy doctors and surgeons, too. but that's OK. Oh yeah, and greedy insurers. And Republicans. And Tea Partiers. And Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, John Boehner, Glenn Beck, and Rush Limbaugh. But aside from that, no hate at all. What a pure man.

Was Obama sent by God… much like Saul was? One of the most amazing truths in the Bible (IMHO) is how God uses His enemies to do His will. Had Joseph's (coat of many colors)brothers not sold him into slavery, he would not have saved Egypt from famine… had Augustus not proclaimed the tax… Mary and Joseph would have not traveled to Bethlehem. We in America, like Israel in the Bible… when prospering often lose our “need” of God. Sadly in the human condition, repentance beings with crisis… such is the rebellious heart of humankind. I think we're there!
With President Obama and his socialist agenda… many Americans for the first time are discussing and re-discovering the Constitution, the founders and how and Who gave the “inalienable rights” we have so long taken for granted. Now with our liberty and prosperity being put at great risk… we may be in a position to proclaim and reclaim our heritage. But we will face the Devil and his heathen’s wrath (re: Psalm 2) in way not seen in our history! As in any war… there will be casualties. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and America!
Craig, I hear you, but I don't think that explains this. When I teach, if I accidentally delete a critical thought, the pause that follows is where I rearrange what I just said and pick it back up.
"They are endowed" logically requires an "endower". No one who is used to public speaking could make that mistake, pause long enough to hear himself, and not correct it. BO meant this omission.
