Liberalism Oppresses The Fatherless Through Abortion And Infanticide

  • The increasing influence that the idolatrous false religion of Liberalism is having in our Churches ought to concern Christians everywhere. Liberalism is oppressing the most helpless, defenseless, and fatherless part of humanity that the world has ever known, the unborn and newly born. Christians need to renew their minds in the truth that God’s justice demands a concern for the unborn, newly born, and the orphan.

    “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:1-2

    God is intimately aware of the unborn child and such a child is created in the image of God and no arbitrary decision changes that truth.

    “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
    Before you were born I sanctified you…” Jeremiah 1:5

    “My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place.
    When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

    your eyes saw my unformed body.
    All the days ordained for me
    were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.

    How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
    How vast is the sum of them!” Psalm 139:15-17

    Where are the fathers of the over one million unborn babies that are killed every year in America? Where are the fathers coming to the aid of their daughter or son who has yet to see the light of day, or left to die open, exposed, bleeding and suffering in the light of day?

    Phil Keaggy has a powerful song that confronts the evil of abortion:

    The lyrics are from one of the Psalms:

    “For I hear the slander of many;
    there is terror on every side;
    they conspire against me
    and plot to take my life.

    But I trust in you, O LORD;
    I say, “You are my God.”

    My times are in your hands;
    deliver me from my enemies
    and from those who pursue me.” Psalm 31:13-15

    The Lord our God is a holy and righteous God who is concerned about the fatherless, and anyone claiming to be a Christian ought to take His Words to heart on this matter of good and evil.

    “He who sacrifices to any god, except to the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
    “You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
    “You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry; and My wrath will become hot, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.” Exodus 22:20-24

    “For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe. He administers justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the stranger, giving him food and clothing. Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.” Deuteronomy 10:17-19

    “At the end of every third year you shall bring out the tithe of your produce of that year and store it up within your gates. And the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are within your gates, may come and eat and be satisfied, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.” Deuteronomy 14:28-29

    “You shall not pervert justice due the stranger or the fatherless, nor take a widow’s garment as a pledge. But you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you from there; therefore I command you to do this thing.” Deuteronomy 24:17-18

    “Why does the wicked man revile God?
    Why does he say to himself,
    “He won’t call me to account”?

    But you, O God, do see trouble and grief;
    you consider it to take it in hand.
    The victim commits himself to you;
    you are the helper of the fatherless.

    Break the arm of the wicked and evil man;
    call him to account for his wickedness
    that would not be found out.” Psalm 10:13-15

    “Sing to God, sing praise to his name,
    extol him who rides on the clouds
    his name is the LORD—
    and rejoice before him.

    A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
    is God in his holy dwelling.

    God sets the lonely in families,
    he leads forth the prisoners with singing;
    but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.” Psalm 68:4-6

    “They crush your people, O LORD;
    they oppress your inheritance.

    They slay the widow and the alien;
    they murder the fatherless.

    They say, “The LORD does not see;
    the God of Jacob pays no heed.” Psalm 94:5-7

    This is the evil fruit of Liberalism, the murder of the fatherless. We need to recover a biblical mindset on this and that means looking at the evil fruit of ancient idolatry found in the Old Testament:

    “Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-five years. His mother’s name was Hephzibah. He did evil in the eyes of the LORD, following the detestable practices of the nations the LORD had driven out before the Israelites. He rebuilt the high places his father Hezekiah had destroyed; he also erected altars to Baal and made an Asherah pole, as Ahab king of Israel had done. He bowed down to all the starry hosts and worshiped them. He built altars in the temple of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, “In Jerusalem I will put my Name.” In both courts of the temple of the LORD, he built altars to all the starry hosts.”

    “He sacrificed his own son in the fire, practiced sorcery and divination, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD, provoking him to anger.

    He took the carved Asherah pole he had made and put it in the temple, of which the LORD had said to David and to his son Solomon, “In this temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my Name forever. I will not again make the feet of the Israelites wander from the land I gave their forefathers, if only they will be careful to do everything I commanded them and will keep the whole Law that my servant Moses gave them.” But the people did not listen. Manasseh led them astray, so that they did more evil than the nations the LORD had destroyed before the Israelites. The LORD said through his servants the prophets: Manasseh king of Judah has committed these detestable sins. He has done more evil than the Amorites who preceded him and has led Judah into sin with his idols.” 2 Kings 21:1-11

    The priests of God were swept away with the idolatry of the land during these ancient days just as today Christians are being swept away. The only difference today is that the name of the idol has changed. Instead of Baal worship it is now Liberalism. It is time to confront our brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ who have been deceived by this idol and call them back to the one true Lord and exclusive Savior of mankind. Even Jesus Himself has special place in His heart for the infant and the child and we cannot deny the implication this has for the unborn.

    “Then they also brought infants to Him that He might touch them; but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” Luke 18:15-17

    No Christian can be pro-choice or support those who are for it is an offense against our holy and righteous God and an offense to our status as God’s priests.

    “Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:13-16

    “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9

    Let us seek to be consistent on this issue by matching our opposition to abortion with support for adoption and match our concern about the orphan with advocating for the protection of the orphan while he or she is still in the womb. If you are not called to adopt yourself I think you should be financially helping those who are, for the defense of children requires many to be involved.

    “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27
