Elderly Woman Protesting Abortion In Montana Gets A Firebomb Thrown At Her

  • And to think this is where I grew up. Obviously too many Liberals have been moving to Montana. From Life News:

A homemade incendiary device was thrown at one of the participants of the 40 Days for Life pro-life prayer vigil at an abortion business in Kalispell, Montana on Thursday night.

The woman walked on the public sidewalk near the abortion business when an unidentified person threw the device — akin to a “Molotov cocktail” — in her direction. The woman did not see either the firebomb nor the assailant it exploded on the sidewalk behind her, making a loud popping noise like a big firecracker as it burst into flame. Fortunately, the woman was not hurt in the incident.

After she regained her composure, the victim called Karen Trierweiler, coordinator of the 40 Days prayer vigils in Kalispell at the All Family Health Care abortion center, over to her.

After a lengthy delay, a Kalispell police officer arrived. However, according to officials with the Thomas More Society, a pro-life legal group that is helping the participants, instead of inspecting the bomb debris or calling evidence technicians to the scene, the officer remarked that police could never get prints or other evidence from the bomb’s remains and said he would call the city’s garbage service to dispose of all the debris.

The officer then said that the 40 Days prayer vigil participants should expect this kind of reaction if they’re protesting at the abortion business. Questioning Officer Hoover’s assessment of the attack, Trierweiler called the Kalispell desk sergeant to complain, where she was unable to get further assistance.

Tom Brejcha, president and chief counsel of the Thomas More Society says his group has filed a formal complaint with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Field Office in Helena, Montana. The organization is for an immediate, intensive investigation of what it calls a “vicious” attack.

“We are appalled by this terrible act of violence, while we’re immensely grateful that God’s grace spared this valiant pro-lifer any serious injury,” he told LifeNews.com this afternoon. “But the reaction of Kalispell police officers after Ms. Trierweiler called them to the scene was equally appalling, indeed outrageous.”

“We intend to file disciplinary complaints against both the officer who came to the crime scene and the desk sergeant whose tepid, indifferent, and grossly unprofessional response to this blatant act of domestic terrorism shows them both unfit to wear a police uniform and at best deserving of severe disciplinary action. We expect much better from the FBI and we will pursue the matter to the very highest levels of the U.S. Department of Justice if this case is not investigated promptly and vigorously and — once the assailant is identified and apprehended — prosecuted to the hilt,” he continued.

Trierweiler also reported that an eyewitness has stepped forward, who was not part of the 40 Days campaign but was a passerby and who the incident occur and may be able to help the FBI track down the bomb thrower and bring him to justice.

This is a terribly sad story, that kind of hatred from anyone is intolerable.

That said, I really do not understand the binary world you live in. There are liberals and conservatives, liberals, all of them, believe in a monolithic set of doctrines which includes abortion rights. Somebody in Montana threw a firebomb at a pro-life person, so they were obviously pro-choice, and therefore part of the monolithic thing that is liberalism (so all liberals are hateful hateful people). The evil that men do comes from the evil in their hearts, not affiliation to some abstract "movement."

It's like you've taken the two party system of the United States and extrapolated it out into some kind of universal truth. Liberal, conservative, moderate, these are all broad brush descriptions that apply to all kinds of people. Seriously, ever hear of Log Cabin Republicans? Democrats for Life?

This world of clear and distinct sides that exists in your head is an illusion.

  • This world of clear and distinct sides that exists in your head is an illusion.

I will assume you are familiar with the biblical imagery of light vs darkness, good vs evil, lawless vs righteous etc. The Christian world view is one of either/or in most cases, rarely a middle ground. Walk in the middle of the road and you become road kill, choose a side. Gay Republicans and Pro-Life Democrats are like modern Frankensteins, unnatural. How many "pro-life" Democrats voted for ObamaCare and or continue to support President Obama, a pro-abortion absolutist? I liken today's Liberalism to the Baal worship condemned in the Bible. The fruit of idolatry has not changed in thousands of years: justify the murder of children, worship nature, and engage in sexually immoral acts. That was Baal worship then, it is Liberalism today.

  • Yes, quite familiar with that imagery. Righteousness vs. Lawlessness, Pure vs. Sinful. We're totally on one side or another.

"As it is written: “ There is none righteous, no, not one" Romans 3:10

    and

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." 1 John 1:8

    Yup.

Looks like we're all on the side of the unrighteous. Lucky for us, One who is righteous took on our humanity, became as one of us, and died so that we might have mercy, and by God's grace creep our way towards righteousness until the day of the Resurrection when we shall be made whole.

Yes, good is good, because God is one and he is good. But we humans are muddled. Evil can't exist without good, so even the worst of us have some good in us.

The Democratic senator supports abortion, but he cares deeply for the poor. He can't stand it that so many find themselves in abject despair because of where this world has put them He does all he can to help them, pours out his life for them.

The Republican presidential candidate is a racist. She says it's just about keeping the law, making sure that those who come across the border do so legally, but really, she hates Mexicans. But that's not all she cares about, she know abortion is wrong. She's seen the harm it has done to people she loves.

I know I'm not better than these two. I can be a good, loving friend, and I try to do my best to care for others. I'm also prideful and lustful. I know I've believed and fought for things in the past that I now think I was deeply mistaken on. But I seek God, I rest in Him, and I try.

I'm not so foolish as to think I've arrived though. Especially the ideological stuff, that's tricky. If I've been mistaken in the past about things, chances are I am now. It's not an easy thing to see in oneself though, because you always believe what you believe.

I won't presume to tell you what your sins are, but I know you have them. Not because I know you, but because I know the Bible and I know humanity. Undoubtedly some of your conservative ideology comes right out of your love for Christ, and undoubtedly some of it is as horrendously idolatrous as those you condemn.

Yes, the universe is, in the end, black and white, but we aren't. Those ultimate truths, when they hit the ground, get pretty muddy.

  • I've posted a great quote on the fundamental difference between Liberals/Conservatives and Democrats/Republicans. Here it is:
How can Christians, as well as other persons who share similar values, vote for a candidate who wants to persecute them for their views and to compel them, against their consciences and subject to civil penalties, to be indoctrinated and participate in the affirmation of immoral practices? In short, how can Christians vote for someone who will insure society’s regard for them as bigots?
    http://www.bluecollarphilosophy.com/2010/12/flash

What it comes down to is the the Liberal agenda of the Democrats will lead to the persecution of Christians if it is ever fully realized.

  • I'm against war. I'm not the first, and I certainly won't be the last, Christian to hold this position.

This fundamentally arises, for me, out of what Christ has called us to. Should I, as someone who believes such, support a war supporting Republican candidate? What if the draft gets reinstated and I'm forced to fight, against my conscience and subject to worse than civil penalties, to be indoctrinated and participate in the prosecution of an immoral practice (i.e. murder).

This world and all its kingdoms (that includes Republican, Democrat, Communist, Anarchist, Fascist, etc.) are opposed to the Kingdom of God.

  • I've only seen Democrats talk about reinstating the draft lately.

This world and all its kingdoms (that includes Republican, Democrat, Communist, Anarchist, Fascist, etc.) are opposed to the Kingdom of God.

I will equally point out instances where the policies of them pose a danger to Christians. As it stands now, the Liberal agenda of the Democrats poses the single greatest threat.

  • You completely missed my point.
