This has got to be one of the most ridiculous stories in recent memory. A man has been arrested in the Isle of Wright for singing “Kung Fu Fighting”. The reason? A Chinese man and his mother happened to walk by at the time and were offended. From the Telegraph:
Simon Ledger says he fears she will end up with a criminal record for performing the 1974 disco classic at a seafront bar on the Isle of Wight on Sunday after two people walking past apparently took offence.
The 34-year-old, from the island, regularly features Carl Douglas’s 1974 number one hit in his set when he performs at the Driftwood Beach Bar in Sandown.
But after striking up the melody in front of customers at the weekend he noticed a man of Chinese origin walking past with his mother, making gestures at him and taking a picture on his mobile phone.
He said that he later received a telephone call from police – while he was dining in a Chinese restaurant – asking him to meet officers about the incident.
He was then arrested and questioned before being bailed.
Hampshire Police said that it had been following up a complaint of racially aggravated harassment.
“We were performing Kung Fu Fighting, as we do during all our sets,” Mr Ledger, 34, told The Sun.
“People of all races were loving it, Chinese people have never been offended before.”
A police spokesman said: “Police are investigating an allegation of racially-aggravated harassment. A man from Shanklin was arrested.”

Thanks to Instapundit for the link. Also, remember that this is the country that arrests preachers who say homosexuality is a sin and will not let Christians become foster parents because of their views on homosexuality. Free speech is becoming a thing of the past in the United Kingdom.

The UK is completely retarded. They arrest this guy for singing a popular song but they let islamorageboys protest openly in the streets screaming hatred and waving the black flag of jihad. Stupid English.
The song is offensive, but only on a musical level.
The UK hasn't been a free country in years. They've given up their freedom so everyone will like them. Time to not care what other people think.

If anyone needs to be arrested, its the dude that wrote that stupid song! Singing it should get you nothing more than a ticket for noise pollution.

I'm offended by the hyper-sensitivity of those who were offended by a song. Should they expect to be arrested soon as well?

Oh that's nothing. The indigenous population walk on egg shells whilst foreigners get away with murder, literally. The guy who is an illegal immigrant who has criminal convictions as long as your arm, drives his car without insurance and proceeds to run over a 12 year old girl and leaves her dying and alone. He goes to court, gets off with a light sentence and instead of being deported he is allowed to stay in the UK because he has family here so therefore it would breach his human rights. In the meantime a father, with no rights at all, apparently, grieves the death of his beloved daughter. Welcome to broken Britain.

Brittain has really lost sight of what is right and wrong these days. The rest of the world laughs at America for being so "backwards" but American (excluding California and NY) seems to be the only Western country that has had the wherewithal not to fall prey to PC to such an extent that down is now up and vice versa. Although I am not a tea party member, this is what a lot of the tea party is about. Standing up to the PC insanity where anybody who is not white and male is a victim of some sort. The tragic part is that due to demographics, the end of the story for Jolly Ole England is almost certainly already written. As its indigenous population fails to reproduce, and its immigrant population explodes soon it will cease to be England and start being Brittinstan. Sharia is already practiced in some places there. And with the PC police in full battle gear, anybody who tries to take a stand is now ripe for a prison cell. Good luck and so long my Limey friends. You should've stood up for your identities and culture when you had the chance. Now its just a matter of time and demographics.
