Ron Paul Picks Up Major South Carolina Endorsement In State Senator Tom Davis
-
A popular state Senator in South Carolina has endorsed Ron Paul. From the Examiner:
At 6:00pm EST there was supposed to be coverage of perhaps the biggest endorsement by a South Carolina political leader in their state. Obviously, we must assume at this hour that it would only be met with big news coverage if the person in question picked any of the candidates except Ron Paul.
The tremendously popular State Senator Tom Davis came out with his coveted endorsement for none other than Congressman Paul. In case you missed it, you are not alone. After 2 1/2 hours of scouring the internet looking to find any video clip of his speech to attach to this article, I was forced to change the focus of this article. The story has now become the near blackout coverage of this all important endorsement.
Literally thousands of Ron Paul supporters were eagerly awaiting coverage of this event. Sen. Tom Davis is said to be the foremost leader of the Tea Party movement in South Carolina. Leading up to this endorsement, a story on FITSNews reported the following quotes by many news outlets and political leaders:
AdvertisementCNN: Referenced Sen. Davis as a “rising star”.
POLITICO: Named him as one of its “50 politicos to watch”.
Matt Moore, SCGOP Executive Director: “Senator Tom Davis’ fiscal conservative credentials are outstanding” and more recently, “Any candidate would do well to gain his endorsement.”
Rick Santorum’s quotes: “To get an endorsement by someone like Tom Davis is a big deal.” “It would speak volumes to folks and make them take notice and give us a look.”
Paul campaign: “game-changing” and “consequential”
If Paul wins South Carolina the media and most Republicans will start freaking out, and rightly so.

Speaking as a Christian social conservative, a pro-lifer and a civil libertarian who spends a lot of time along our northern border, I think Ron Paul is the best candidate we have right now. Yeah, I like Santorum too, but I`m a little nervous about his support of the Patriot Act at a time when lifestyle activists are increasingly using activist judges to encroach upon freedom of religion.
Also, I like the fact that Ron Paul`s support for pro-life arises from his background as an ob-gyn rather than as a politician. As I stated recently on my blog, after over 20 years in the pro-life movement I have met several politicians who switched from pro-life to pro-abortion when it became politically expedient to do so. But not once have I encountered a doctor who made the same switch.
So I really think Christians ought to take a serious look at Ron Paul, especially now that he is proving himself more competitive.
Christians and social conservatives for Ron Paul. Wooo hooo! Stand back… Todd is about have a caniption fit in 3… 2… 1….
LOL. Not yet, but it may come.
