If we follow the logic stated here there would be serious consequences for religious freedom and morality. To claim that telling your child there are consequences for their actions is akin to “child abuse” could require the State to intervene. We do not want children being abused do we? Here is video of Ricky Gervais stating as much on CNN with Piers Morgan.
Notice as well the unquestioning of the view that being gay is not a choice.

What do you think about his final comments in the clip? Loves America. Would march to defend religion if it were banned.

I'd like to see him mesh that with his "child abuse" view. He'd have to say that parents have a right to abuse their children if he truly believes in free speech and religion.
I wonder if he knowingly builds that straw man of the Christian world view or he just that ignorant.
