Democrat Congressman Did Not Read Payroll Tax Bill Before Voting For It (Video)
-
This is what is wrong with how things are done in Congress. Bills that are hundreds if not thousands of pages long are likely never fully read by those who vote on them. Here you have Democrat Congressman John Conyers admitting that he did not read the payroll tax bill he just voted for.
They should make an agreement or pass a bill that all new bills should be no more than 10 pages. But that bill would probably be a thousand pages to try cover all the reasons they could not do it. This goes the same for Republicans as well. If you do not have time to read the bill you are voting on, then either shorten the bill or delay the vote until you can read it. I think America will survive if you do not pass thousands of pages of legislation every week. And you can bet that the President does not read each bill before signing into law either.

One Response and Counting...
Having people like John Conyers in Congress is also another thing wrong with how things work.
"Bad men cannot make good citizens. It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains. A vitiated state of morals, a corrupted public conscience, is incompatible with freedom. No free government, or the blessings of liberty, can be preserved to any people but by a firm adherence to justice, moderation, temperance, frugality, and virtue; and by a frequent recurrence to fundamental principles."
