There cannot be compromise with most of them and those driving policies in this country have adopted a “by any means necessary” approach to getting and keeping power. The same could be said for Republicans.

The Left is violating their own committment to the separation of Church and State because they seek to replace the Church with the State. Are we ignoring the fact that Republicans have done this very same thing…see Romney and emergency contraception in 2005 (here: http://articles.boston.com/2012-02-03/nation/3101

  • Darn. I have side with Todd again today. Maddow has changed horses mid stream. This has nothing to do with INDIVIDUAL Catholics and their INDIVIDUAL decisions to use birth control. This is about the federal government telling a pretty good sized segment of society that they have to act in a way that most clearly goes against their First Amendment rights to freedom of religion. And then to fine them for not complying is even worse. I'm all for teaching birth control to thoase that want to learn about it and I think it works well in europe, but I will draw the line at helping enact federal legislation to compel those who have to different opinions about it to agree with me.

  • That is why Romney isn't going to be the nominee. Too many flip flops in recent memory. I wouldn't support this no matter who is proposing it.
