I do think Romney is using a very clever rope-a-dope strategy. He could have released his taxes earlier if he knew there was nothing incriminating in them. I think his plan is very smart; let Obama attack and do nothing and then wait until the last minute and release a barrage of numbers, statistics and attacks. By time the media has a chance to analyze all this, its too late because election day will be upon us. He came from behind to win the governorship of Massachusetts this way so he is still very dangerous unless he totally bombs out in the first debate. I've said Obama has it according to the polls but I wont be absolutely sure until the first debate.
This will be known as the week Obama lost the election.
Right. Let's make this interesting. If Romney wins, I will change my avatar to a photo of George W Bush. You choose the picture- presidential as you like. I will use that avatar for a year. If Obama wins, you have to change your avatar to an Obama picture of my choice- presidential, charismatic, messiah-like. And keep it till November 2013 for all your posts on here.

So I was thinking that is what you were talking about, the Intensedebate picture. Tossing in my blog picture, if that is what you are doing is new. I'll agree to a 1 on 1 avatar bet, but not changing my BCP picture. So whenever I comment in responses to you or whomever, if you win, then it will be a hallowed picture of Obama.

I only use Intense Debate to comment here. I don't comment on other political blogs, just rugby ones where I use a different profile and avatar. It would be no hardship for me to continue to comment here for a year with a Rush Limbaugh avatar. I could really see the funny side. But this is your blog. It' s a big deal for you, and it could be disconcerting for your conservative followers to see you represented in all your comments by the Marxist-in-Chief. Are you really up for that? Mitt is going to lose, Todd. Seriously.
To see a Rush Limbaugh face in my comment section every time you leave a comment or go on some defense of Chomsky will be so worth it, and worth the risk. I think it's a funny wager and I laugh thinking about it. So it's on!

I would be careful betting. I think Romeny's strategy is to use the rope-a-dope defense. If you can stay nearly even in the polls without saying anything substantial then I would be fearful of when the other shoe is going to drop.
