George Will Wonders If Supreme Court Will Let States Decide Gay Marriage Issue (Video)

George Will makes an interesting point about why the Supreme Court may let the states decide about gay marriage. He thinks that the impact of the Court’s decision on abortion may lead to some restraint when they decide this issue.

Best case I think will be a split decision. Down with DOMA but states left with the ability to decide.

  1. The Supreme Court will make it legal for all states. A marraige license is not like a driver's license or a gun license. Most states accept those from other states because they participate in reciprocal agreements. Those are licenses for people and their objects. This is not the case with a marriage license. You can't be legaly married in one state and when your job moves you to another state then you become what? Illegal? It should be interesting to see the same issue come up with the legalization of marijuana in Colorado and Seatle.
