Of course the Left Wing blogosophere is spinning feverishly to minimize the impact of the Breitbart article that has President Obama’s birth place as Kenya. One such blog is Little Green Footballs. First there was the attempt to minimize the news by going on the attack.

FEAR THE VETTING!

Here’s what they “vetted” this time: a promotional booklet written and produced by a literary agency in 1991, not intended for public distribution, that incorrectly states Barack Obama was “born in Kenya.”

Pollak sanctimoniously invokes the name of their departed founder in an intro that says, “This isn’t a Birther article, folks, no matter how much it looks like one. (Wink, wink.)”

There is then a statement by the literary agent that made the error. Notice how Johnson fails to raise any remotely serious questions about this.

Taegan Goddard’s Political Wire got a statement from the literary agent who produced the promotional booklet that was the subject of Breitbart.com’s EXCLUSIVE BOMBSHELL VETTING post today…Somehow, I doubt that’s going to have much effect on the unstoppable Birthers.

That’s it? No questions about how such a mistake was made? I posed a few earlier, maybe Johnson and his curiously incurious readers might answer them.

Really? Are you trying to have us believe that you did not see Obama’s biography? Obviously his living overseas had to be known. I would think part of an author’s appeal is their history and place of birth would play into that. No question about to clarify the timeline was ever asked? Sorry, not buying it. If there was nothing to suggest that Obama was born in Kenya than why the assumption?

There is a follow up article at Breitbart that shows Obama’s birth place listed as Kenya up until 2007, well after Obama was a national figure. So much for the claims by Charles Johnson.

Miriam Goderich issued the following statement to Political Wire:

“You’re undoubtedly aware of the brouhaha stirred up by Breitbart about the erroneous statement in a client list Acton & Dystel published in 1991 (for circulation within the publishing industry only) that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me — an agency assistant at the time. There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii. I hope you can communicate to your readers that this was a simple mistake and nothing more.”

As an author, Roger L. Simon raises this issue since he thinks it would be highly unlikely that Obama did not see this blurb about his book. From PJ Media:

We have always branded Bill Clinton a liar, at least about sex, and probably other things. But the amazing scoop by Breitbart.com today makes Obama one up on Bill. In all likelihood, the president will say that he never saw the information from his literary agents claiming he was born in Kenya. But as the author of 11 books, I can say that in EVERY instance that I have been published, I have seen such material in advance. It could be that Obama is the exception, but that is highly unlikely.

In other words, we have in the White House a man willing to bend his national identity for profit. Pretty cool! (He’s supposed to be cool, isn’t he? Well that’s as cool as it gets.)

In a few minutes, I will be interviewing Jack Cashill. Some time ago, Mr. Cashill wrote for the American Thinker that Bill Ayers wrote or rewrote Dreams From My Father, the Obama “memoir” that is at issue here. It will be interesting to see what Mr. Cashill has to say on PJTV, because this new revelation from Breitbart adds great credence to his theory.

I still maintain this says more about Obama’s character than his origin of birth.

Breitbart News has obtained a promotional booklet produced in 1991 by Barack Obama’s then-literary agency, Acton & Dystel, which touts Obama as “born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.”

The booklet, which was distributed to “business colleagues” in the publishing industry, includes a brief biography of Obama among the biographies of eighty-nine other authors represented by Acton & Dystel.

Let me appeal to my fellow minority members, my kin, my brothers and sisters. Now that we are all the same playing field, in the minority, we need to stick together. That is right, there are now more births by non-white families for the first time in America. From Yahoo News:

For the first time in history, there were more minority children born in the United States than white, according to 2011 census data released on Thursday.

The U.S. Census Bureau reports that 50.4 percent of children born in a 12-month period that ended July 2011 were Hispanic, black, Asian-American or from other minorities groups, while non-Hispanic whites accounted for 49.6 percent of all births in that span. In 2010, minority babies accounted for 49.5 percent of all births.

Overall, minorities in the U.S. increased 1.9 percent to 114 million, or 36.6 percent of the total U.S. population. But with the weak economy resulting in fewer Hispanics entering the U.S., demographers project that the tipping point when minorities become the majority in America may not happen as early as some predicted. After the 2010 census, experts suggested it could happen by 2040.

The census report signals “the dawn of an era in which whites no longer will be in the majority,” the Washington Post said…

My children will grow up with this reality and they are actually already minority members being that they are Asian American. Who knows what this demographic change will bring. Open retribution for some perceived injustice that none of us had anything to do with? Violence? Harassment? Marginalization? Redistribution? Let us move forward together to a brighter future where we can all have empathy for what the other has gone through. Change is coming.

Republicans are going to need to raise a lot of money to keep pace with President Obama and the Democrats. Wait and see what May looks like since that will be the first full month of Romney versus Obama in fundraising, but April was good for the Republicans. From The Hill:

Mitt Romney and the Republican National Committee (RNC) raised $40.1 million in April, the campaign announced Thursday.

While the totals fall just short of the $43.6 million President Obama raised for his reelection campaign and for Democrats last month, they are a leap over Romney’s $12.5 million haul in March, previously his best month to date.

“We are pleased with the strong support we have received from Americans across the country who are looking for new leadership in the White House,” said Spencer Zwick, Romney Victory national finance chairman, in a statement. “Along with the hard work of the Republican National Committee, we will continue to raise the funds necessary to defeat President Obama in November.”

Romney’s campaign said 95 percent of all donations received by the campaign, Romney Victory fund and RNC in April were for $250 or less, totaling $10.1 million. The campaign reports $61.4 million cash in hand.

“Voters are tired of President Obama’s broken promises,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus on Thursday. “Mitt Romney has the record and plan to turn our country around — that is why he is receiving such enthusiastic support from voters across the country.”

Last month, Romney began joint fundraising efforts with the RNC, and his efforts were also boosted after his chief rival former Sen. Rick Santorum (Pa.) exited the GOP primary race, leaving Romney the de facto nominee…

Karl Rove’s group has released an ad devastating Obama’s record. From Yahoo News:

A conservative group linked to President George W. Bush’s former adviser Karl Rove is launching a massive ad buy across 10 battleground states accusing President Barack Obama of broken promises when it comes to jobs, the economy and cutting the deficit.

Crossroads GPS, a 501(c)(4) group that is not required to disclose its donors, is spending $8 million between now and the end of May to run a minute-long ad featuring video of the “promises” Obama made during the 2008 campaign and early in his presidency.

“President Obama’s agenda promised so much,” the ad says. “We need solutions, not just promises.”

The spot is just the beginning of a $25 million ad buy the group plans to launch over the next month and comes just days after Obama’s re-election campaign announced its own $25 million ad push.

The ad buy is a hint of how influential Crossroads GPS and its sister group, American Crossroads, will be leading up to November’s general election. While Mitt Romney is busy raising money to overcome Obama’s huge cash advantage in the race, the Crossroads groups can step in and provide air coverage to aid the presumptive GOP nominee.

The Crossroads ad echoes a message Romney’s campaign has been pushing this week—though under the campaign finance law, the group is not allowed legally to coordinate with the candidate…

This is a brilliant ad taking on the claim that the Republicans are at war with women. It also exposes the absurdity that Democrats are tolerant. From the video:

If it feels like 1984 in real life, it should. The threats to our religious liberty and conscience rights are very real. The question that needs to be asked of this president is “who decides”? Time and time again, President Obama has affirmed that it is the government who decides — government who decides what women want and think.

President Obama and his allies in Congress and the abortion lobby must stop the “War on Women” who don’t agree with them!

It’s President Obama’s job to protect the freedom of all women and men to practice their beliefs. Yet, an all-out assault has been launched by this administration on people of faith and conscience. Our rights are at stake and we must do something to stop it now. We must expose him!

I have learned that Florida election officials are set to announce that the Secretary of State has discovered and purged up to 53,000 dead voters from the voter rolls in Florida.

How could 53,000 dead voters have sat on the polls for so long? Simple, because Florida hadn’t been using the best available data revealing which voters have died. Florida is now using the nationwide Social Security Death Index for determining which voters should be purged because they have died.

Here is the bad news. Most states aren’t using the same database that Florida is. In fact, I have heard reports that some election officials won’t even remove voters even when they are presented with a death certificate. That means that voter rolls across the nation still are filled with dead voters, even if Florida is leading the way in detecting and removing them…

But don’t worry, we don’t need voter ID. We can trust Democrats on this.

Express your view on gay marriage and the Liberal thought police are ready to punish you for violating their sacred Dogma. The new high priests of conformity of thought are ready to strike and implement their justice on the spot for anyone who dares to disagree with them. This is what happened to boxer Manny Pacquiao after he answered a question that was posed to him and an misquote caused the uproar. From the LA Times:

Manny Pacquiao said in an interview Wednesday that he has nothing against gay people and that hateful comments attributed to him are untrue.

“What I said is a reporter asked me about gay marriage…I am against gay marriage, but I’m not condemning gays,” the boxer said in an interview with The Times. “I have family — a cousin — who’s gay, and friends, too. I’m just against gay marriage. I don’t even want to talk about the issue, but I was asked about it, so I gave my opinion.”

Pacquiao was responding the Grove shopping mall’s decision to ban him from the Westside venue. The ban turned out to be based on erroneous information that the boxing legend had cited Scripture and suggested gay men should die.

Pacquiao said he never referred to Scripture referencing bringing harm to homosexuals.

Pacquiao said although he’s a congressman in the Philippines, he’d prefer to avoid discussion of divisive U.S. social subjects in the future.

“My favorite Scripture is ‘Love thy neighbor as you love yourself,’ ” he said. “Obey the Commandments, the Scripture: love everyone, love each other.”

The Grove announced the ban Tuesday evening…

For the Left, tolerance no longer means putting up with what you disagree with or find morally unacceptable. The Left’s version mandates that you must accept what they are promoting at a minimum, but they really want you to advance even if you find it morally objectionable. That is not true tolerance but coercion. True tolerance is saying you think something is wrong, even a sin, and not treating that person any differently because of that sin. Liberals show us once again that they are the most intolerant bunch around. They just want to role out one mandate after another and call you names if you object.

Tim Tebow’s attorneys sent a cease and desist letter to the folks at Cubby Tees who are making these T-shirts, according to TMZ:

Tebow’s attorneys put it this way: “The Merchandise makes it appear as if Mr. Tebow actually endorses Cubby Tees and its products.” Where that actually happens is a bit of a mystery.

The shirt, as you can see, remixes the Jets logo to a more Jesus-friendly theme. The “NY” is replaced with “MY” and the “JETS” is replaced with “JESUS.” In addition, what’s normally a football at the bottom of the logo is now that Jesus fish thing I always see on bumper stickers.

And yes, when you think of Jesus and the Jets together, you probably think of Tebow, but the shirt itself contains absolutely no Tebow references. I am neither a theologian nor a lawyer, but I don’t think Tebow is the only one allowed to claim Jesus as “My Jesus.” But again, I’m not sure exactly how close Tebow and Jesus are. I could be wrong about that.

It’s not the first time something like this has happened, either. Jerseys like these have existed for years.

The Cubby Tees people specialize in fun sports-themed T-shirts ‒ others you may enjoy include this Rob Gronkowski special, or perhaps this new RGIII apparel. Given their other shirts, I wouldn’t interpret this as necessarily making fun of Tebow, but I’d doubt that they were 100 percent religiously motivated, either.

I’d have thought Tebow would’ve liked this shirt ‒ especially after he once endorsed people wearing No. 15 “JESUS” jerseys in Denver, as long as their heart was in the right place. Again, I don’t see the infringement here ‒ there’s no likeness of Tebow, and his name isn’t on it anywhere. It seems to be for people who love the Jets and Jesus.

In the end, I think the cease-and-desist serves only to give loads and loads of free publicity to the Cubby people, and probably sells a lot of T-shirts. In the end, the people from Cubby Tees aren’t backing down — per the TMZ story, they sent a response to Tebow’s representatives, stating that the design “shares nothing with Mr. Tebow except for promotion of a common Lord and Savior.”

Now it seems that at least two of those points hit the nail on the head. In light of the ObamaCare abortion mandate and now Obama’s evolution on gay marriage, two of my reasons are worth quoting here.

8. Expect Obama to continue to push a pro-abortion agenda that will increase abortions in this country despite concerns about lowing the numbers.

9. Expect the gay rights agenda to be further pushed on the America people, even to the point to where there are consequences for resisting it.

There are already consequences on the abortion front as Obama and the Democrats are seeking to force those opposed to abortion become active participants in it. The marriage front will also see a similar future as Obama wants to force those opposed to gay marriage take part in such ceremonies. Another four years of Obama means a march toward a Totalitarian state in which a Liberal agenda will mean more mandate and full scale assault on the First Amendment, particularly religious liberty.

Do we really need more evidence that Liberalism in incompatible with religious liberty in America? President Obama and the Democrats have no made it crystal clear that the First Amendment is in their sights. Now Obama wants to force military chaplains to be apart of gay marriage ceremonies. From CNS News:

The Obama administration “strongly objects” to provisions in a House defense authorization bill that would prohibit the use of military property for same-sex “marriage or marriage-like” ceremonies, and protect military chaplains from negative repercussions for refusing to perform ceremonies that conflict with their beliefs, according to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

In a policy statement released Wednesday, the OMB outlined numerous objections to aspects of the fiscal year 2013 National Defense Authorization Bill (H.R. 4310). The bill was reported out of the House Armed Services Committee last week and is set to be debated in the House, beginning Wednesday. (See related story)

Overall, it recommends that President Obama veto H.R. 4310 if its cumulative effects “impede the ability of the Administration to execute the new defense strategy and to properly direct scarce resources.”

The veto warning is not specifically linked to the two provisions dealing with marriage, but they are listed among parts of the bill which the administration finds objectionable.

The memo said the two provisions “adopt unnecessary and ill-advised policies that would inhibit the ability of same-sex couples to marry or enter a recognized relationship under State law.”

Section 536 of H.R. 4310 states in part that no member of the armed forces may “direct, order, or require a chaplain to perform any duty, rite, ritual, ceremony, service, or function that is contrary to the conscience, moral principles, or religious beliefs of the chaplain, or contrary to the moral principles and religious beliefs of the endorsing faith group of the chaplain.”

Further, no member of the armed forces may “discriminate or take any adverse personnel action against a chaplain, including denial of promotion, schooling, training, or assignment, on the basis of the refusal by the chaplain to comply with a direction, order, or requirement” that is prohibited by the previous clause…

From TDC:

President Barack Obama’s April fundraising total dropped almost 20 percent from the $53 million scored in March, falling to only $43.6 million.

That jarring drop helps explain why Obama has curbed his criticism of Wall Street donors, and increased his efforts to spur donations from gay supporters.

On May 9, he announced his support for single-sex marriage, boosting donations from gay-friendly donors in Hollywood and New York.

That marriage decision will likely boost his May fundraising, but has already damaged his support among critical swing-voting independents, according to several polls.

A new New York Times poll, for example, showed Obama at 43 percent support, slightly behind Gov. Mitt Romney. That poll also showed Obama losing women to Romney, and that there is only a tiny pool of undecided voters — 3 percent — who might be persuaded that Obama’s record is good.

The Republican National Committee jumped on the additional bad news from Obama’s campaign.

“Barack Obama is still the Fundraiser-In-Chief but even he is struggling to sell the American people on his brand of Hype and Blame that has left millions without jobs, a struggling housing situation and record deficits and debt for future generations,” said a statement from RNC spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski.

The month’s take of $43.6 million is also only slightly greater than Obama’s receipts when he was first running for president.

In April 2008, his campaign raised $31.9 million.

Donations to GOP allies, however, are growing.

For example, a right-of-center advocacy group, Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies announced May 16 a $25 million, four-week ad buy to “to frame the national debate on jobs, the economy, ObamaCare and government debt.”

The hard-hitting ad contrasts Obama’s promises to his actions while president…

Not so good in North Carolina, the state where the Democrat Party convention will be this year. Turns out Obama’s decision to evolve on gay marriage has actually given Mitt Romney a nice little bounce. From Rasmussen:

Mitt Romney has moved out to an eight-point lead over President Obama in North Carolina after the two men were virtually tied a month ago.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the Tar Heel State shows the putative Republican nominee earning 51% of the vote to Obama’s 43%. Two percent (2%) like some other candidate, and four percent (4%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

That’s a big change from last month when Romney posted a narrow 46% to 44% lead over the president in Rasmussen Reports’ first survey of the race in North Carolina. Democrats have signaled North Carolina’s importance as a key swing state by deciding to hold their national convention in Charlotte this summer…

Republicans who think it is a good idea to embrace gay marriage should realize that it will doom them politically. People may say they support it in public or when asked in a poll, but it seems when it matters, whey they vote on it, people reject it.

The clerk at a Stanton gas station’s first day on the job was marred by an armed robbery that police believe may be linked to a string of similar holdups in Orange County.

“I really never thought it would actually take place, you know, but unfortunately it did on my first actual day by myself on the job,” the clerk said.

The latest robbery took place Monday night at a Shell station mini-mart on Katella Avenue.

“Kind of thought it was a joke at first,” the clerk said.

The robber walked into the mini-mart, acted if he was going to buy a soda, then quickly changed his demeanor, the clerk said.

Once the new employee saw the robber’s handgun, he did as he’d been trained to do.

“We train them, ‘don’t do anything wrong, don’t be macho,’” said station owner Morry Robatian. “Money is replaceable, is not a problem.”

Robatian had just left the gas station on a dinner break and was shocked to watch the robbery unfold on his cell phone, which is linked in to 32 surveillance cameras at the station.

Investigators believe the robber is part of an organized ring of suspects who wear the same type of black hoodie, lined in white or gray.

On Saturday, an AM/PM gas station mini-mart in Garden Grove was held up by a suspect wearing a similar hoodie. He was arrested.

The clerk who was held up at the Stanton station quit his job even though he needs money to pay back student loans and help his mother who’s recovering from cancer.

He’s now looking for another job…

Medical evidence has now been released and confirms what we saw on Zimmerman’s head. From ABC News:

A medical report compiled by the family physician of accused Trayvon Martin murderer George Zimmerman and obtained exclusively by ABC News found that Zimmerman was diagnosed with a “closed fracture” of his nose, a pair of black eyes, two lacerations to the back of his head and a minor back injury the day after he fatally shot Martin during an alleged altercation.

Zimmerman faces a second degree murder charge for the Feb. 26 shooting that left the unarmed 17-year-old high school junior dead. Zimmerman has claimed self defense in what he described as a life and death struggle that Martin initiated by accosting him, punching him in the face, then repeatedly bashing his head into the pavement.

Also today, a trove of documents are being examined by lawyers for both the defense and prosecution as part of discovery in Zimmerman’s trial — including 67 CDs worth of documents, video of Martin on the night of the shooting, his autopsy report and videos of Zimmerman’s questioning by police.

Zimmerman’s three-page medical report is included in those documents that the defense could use as evidence.

The morning after the shooting, on Feb. 27, Zimmerman sought treatment at the offices of a general physician at a family practice near Sanford, Fla. The doctor notes Zimmerman sought an appointment to get legal clearance to return to work.

The record shows that Zimmerman also suffered bruising in the upper lip and cheek and lower back pain. The two lacerations on the back of his head, one of them nearly an inch long, the other about a quarter-inch long, were first revealed in photos obtained exclusively by ABC News last month.

But the report also shows Zimmerman declined hospitalization the night of the shooting, and then declined the advice of his doctor to make a follow-up appointment with an ear nose and throat doctor.

In addition to his physical injuries, Zimmerman complained of stress and “occasional nausea when thinking about the violence.” But he was not diagnosed with a concussion. The doctor noted that it was “imperative” that Zimmerman “be seen with [sic] his psychologist for evaluation.”

According to the report, prior to the shooting Zimmerman had been prescribed Adderall and Temazepam, medications that can cause side effects such as agitation and mood swings, but in fewer than 10 percent of patients…

I still doubt this will change many minds. Either Zimmerman is guilty of straight up hunting Martin down or Martin was just some thug kid who started wailing on Zimmerman because he was following him.

Should we really feel sorry for someone who crashes their Lamborghini after revving it up at a stop light? If someone can afford to spend $200,000 on a car, as long as the driver was not hurt, I have trouble feeling the person who just crashed it into two other cars. I actually feel more sorry for the two victims that were hit by the numbskull in the Lamborghini. From Yahoo:

It’s a setup, right? No one would just happen to pull up behind a $200,000 Lamborghini Gallardo somewhere in the sprawling Chicago suburbs with a video camera running only to have the Gallardo driver get sudden onset Lambo brain and attempt to drift through the intersection, instead swapping paint with a Honda CR-V and Mercury Grand Marquis. That’s going to leave a mark on their wallet.

Apparently captured at an intersection in Wheeling, Ill., there’s no other information known about the driver of the Gallardo, other than their new-found knowledge of how the V-10 interacts with the all-wheel-drive system on a slow corner. But the videographer did capture the driver of his own Pontiac making one and possibly two illegal U-turns in the road while recording the aftermath. However much money they may get from a few ads on YouTube won’t make up for the cost of a traffic ticket and auto insurance hike.
